Save Your Chess.com and Lichess Games Automatically (and Review Them Later)

You play a game, something interesting happens, and you tell yourself you'll review it later. Then the next game starts, and the one before it is gone — buried in your history, one of dozens you'd have to dig out and export by hand. The single most effective way to improve at chess is reviewing your own games, and the biggest thing standing in the way is friction.

How automatic game saving works#

Once you've installed the ChessSolve extension and started analysis, it's already watching the board. When a game ends, the extension quietly captures it and sends it to your account. There's nothing to click.

• It works on both Chess.com and Lichess — the extension detects the site automatically.
• Each finished game is saved once, so replaying or refreshing won't create duplicates.
• The move list is captured reliably; details like the result and your opponent's name are filled in where the page exposes them.

Crucially, saving is best-effort and completely out of the way. It never blocks your game, never shows an error mid-match, and never affects the live analysis. If a save fails for any reason, your game continues exactly as normal — you just won't see that one in your list. It also only saves real games you played: sitting on the analysis board doesn't create entries.

Everything in one place: My Games#

Your saved games collect at My Games, newest first, from both sites in a single list. Instead of two separate game histories on two separate websites — each behind its own export flow — you get one clean, chronological record of what you've been playing.

Free accounts keep their most recent games; Plus and Premium keep the full history. Either way, the games you just played are always right there.

Replay and re-analyze any game#

Saving games would be pointless if all you could do was look at a list. The payoff is what happens when you open one.

Click any saved game and it loads straight onto the analysis board. From there you can:

• Step through every move with the arrow keys or by clicking the move list.
• See Stockfish's best-move arrows and a live evaluation bar for every position.
• Find the exact moment it turned by watching the eval bar swing.
• Branch into your own lines to test the "what if" you were wondering about during the game.

This is the whole loop that actually builds rating — play, then study where it went wrong — with the export-and-import chore taken out of the middle. If you've ever imported a Chess.com game to Lichess just to get free analysis, this is the same result without any of the steps.

You're in control#

Auto-save is on by default because most people want it, but it's your call. In the extension's Settings tab there's a "Save my games" toggle — switch it off and finished games are no longer saved to your account. Nothing else about analysis changes.

Your saved games are yours: you can delete any of them from My Games at any time, and deleting your account removes them along with everything else.

The players who improve fastest aren't the ones who play the most games — they're the ones who learn from the games they play. Every study on deliberate practice points the same direction: feedback has to be easy to get, or you won't get it.
